A collection by Peruvian visual artist Jonathan Castro between 2024–26 at home studios while living in Amsterdam, then Rotterdam, NL. The compositions were made using various synthesizers, samplers, electronic percussion, congas, and an array of effects pedals. Knackered out salsas, looped up and chucked down into a custom dub chamber.

Given his background living in music, listening to music, and in music — the regional rhythms on display are not a surprise. It seems that what runs through the veins runs through the recordings. What happens over close borders is in earshot, as are local ballads of the past. What comes back to the microphone is knocked around and personalised with wilful intent.

Jonathan describes the sound of this body of work as 'wet' music. The sound of it, the feel of it, and the processes behind it. Everything is allowed to be weathered and become tactile — slowly grown over time. Buried, dug up again, and revisited repeatedly. The pieces become liquid objects. These processes culminate on arguably the wettest of musical formats — the compact tape cassette.
