SnPLO's »Lastday Cookie« sounds both familiar and utterly unique. It borrows elements from the post-Chain Reaction era of dub and minimal techno, but eschews typical elements like stabs. Instead, the percussive framework – which becomes increasingly blurred as the album progresses, with the hi-hats falling nearly silent from the second track onwards – is surrounded by hypnotic, shimmering synth figures that always remain ambiguous. Techno rarely sounded so enigmatic.
