»Olento« was the second solo album by Mika Vainio, released under his Ø moniker in 1996. In contrast to his predecessor, »Metri« (1994), Vainio leaves the dance floor behind – at least for wider parts of the album – and focuses on radically reductionist sonic worlds. On tracks like »Mugwumb« it sounds unmistakable Sähkö, at other times Vainio works with single drones or chords, reminiscent of Basic Channel. In 2019, the label released the album's first vinyl version.
