Jana Horn's third album was written in New York and recorded in the Texas desert. Horn teamed up with Jade Guterman (bass) and Adam Jones (drums) at Sonic Ranch Studio to record her self-titled album, which consists of ten soundscapes that don't really sound like they come from anywhere. Previous comparisons to Yo La Tengo and Phil Elverum still apply to »Love« and »All in bet«, while sparse post-punk rhythms characterise »Designer« and »Don't Think«. In 2023, The New Yorker wrote: »Horn's work joins a community of loners that transcends genre boundaries: traces of Young Marble Giants, Syd Barrett and Broadcast float through her songs.«
